Client Accounts & Subscriptions

Your customers appear in BillingByScott as client accounts — each one a business or user that subscribes to one of your apps.

Subscriptions

A subscription ties a client account to a plan. From the console you can:

• Create, cancel, and reactivate subscriptions.
• Manage trials — extend a trial, or convert it to a paid subscription.
• Assign users to a subscription (which matters for per-user plans and for who gets access).

Overrides

Sometimes a particular customer needs terms that differ from the standard plan — a higher quota, a feature turned on, a special setting. BillingByScott supports per-subscription overrides of features, quotas, and settings, so you can accommodate one customer without creating a whole new plan.

Where customers manage themselves

Customers can also self-manage parts of their subscription from inside your app (via the embedded client library). The console here is your operator view of all of it — and your place to handle the things customers can't do themselves.

Charges for these subscriptions become invoices.
